About Adventure Islands
Delhi boast so many enchanting destinations for children as well as adult for years now, this Children's Day on, they'll have a hot new destination i.e. Adventure Islands. It is opened to the public on November 14, 2006. The Rohini amusement is the combination of both retail and entertainment destination through its two distinct zones. The retail experience is known as Metro Mall and the amusement park is Adventure Islands. Spread over an area of 62 acres, it is Delhi's first theme park designed by Toronto based architect. This amusement parks has around 20 different rides, imported from major European manufactures, in order to get the original feeling. Some of the major rides in this park are a freefall ride, a merry-go-round, demolition derby, and other such rides. Kids of all ages, and adults will both enjoy the rides.
Adventure Island has a separate children's zone, popularly known as Planet POGO . It has a Pogo Plaza for children, and a MAD theatre, H2O zone and HQ.
Another major attraction of the park is the water park which has different rides. The whole amusement park complex is build to attract, with bright colours, clocks, bridges, towers, fountains and a wave pool.

About the Park
The amusement park for people of all ages including a water park and joy rides, Fun 'N' Food Village is situated near Gurgaon. The serene and tranquil atmosphere of the place, the lush greenery and panoramic views that it offers, makes it the best retreat. Launched in 1993, it was inaugurated by former President of India Giani Zail Singh and showcases past traditions along with modern and futuristic recreations. This amusement park aims to promote Indian culture and traditional arts and crafts of India. Along with the joy rides, one can also see the performances and creations of artisans and craftsmen at work.
The rides are suitable for different age groups and special attraction is the wave pool, which is the largest wave pool in all the water parks around Delhi. The water park also boasts of the largest indoor Snow park over an area of 2500 sq. m. The park offers 21 amusement rides, 22 water slides, rain dance, kids water play area and much more. Special food arrangement available for groups. The water park here known as 'Village Club' has the longest water slide in the country and 400 ft long water channel known as 'Lazy River'.
Delhi Zoo

Established in the year 1959, Delhi National Zoological Park lies near the famous Old Fort. One of the best zoos in the entire Asian continent, its uniqueness is that it tries to provide an almost natural habitat to the animals and birds houses here. It proves to be an ideal picnic spots, especially in winters, and is spread over an area of 214 acres. National Zoological Gardens of New Delhi houses more than 2,000 species of animals and birds.
Belonging to different places like Africa, America, Australia, etc, these animals and birds find a home at this zoo. The entrance to the Delhi Zoo consists of the Mughal Kos Minar. The winding pathway, laid with the red Badarpur gravel, swerves off into two directions after approximately one km. Along with the wildlife on both the sides, the right side of the zoo also consists of a library, a storehouse of information on animals, birds, plants, rare zoological species, etc in India.
Wildlife at Delhi Zoo
The right walkway brings you to the cages of the animals such as Chimpanzee, Hippopotamus, Spider monkey, African Wild Buffalo, Gir Lion and Zebras etc. While, the left one leads you to the enclosures of the water animals. You cal also see a number of migratory birds like Peafowl, Hyenas, Macaque, Jaguar, etc in the swamps made for the water birds. At the heart of the zoo, lies the underground Reptile Home complex for the nocturnal animals like King Cobra, Pythons and a number of other species.
Fauna at Delhi Zoo
There are approximately 200 varieties of trees in the National Zoological Park of Delhi, properly displayed with their respective descriptions. Some of them are hanging deep yellow Alamtas or the Phulahi hedges, drought resistant Lahura trees, Delhi Bistendu, etc.
The best way to view New Delhi National Zoological Gardens is on an open-roofed mobile van, available at affordable charges within the zoo. There is also a cafeteria outside the zoo.
Dilli Haat

Dilli Haat, situated in the center of Delhi, is a kind of a weekly market, organized on a much grander scale. It is a permanent haat that offers an amalgamation of handicrafts, food and cultural activities. Dilli haat of Delhi, India is spread over an area of approximately 6 acres and has a typical traditional Indian village look to boast of. It is proud of its look that consists of a plaza paved with stone and brickwork and sprinkled with grass, flowering shrubs, eucalyptus trees, etc.
Shopping In Dilli Haat,
Delhi, is full of an exotic variety of handicrafts and handlooms ranging from intricate woodcarvings to embellished camel hide footwear, to sophisticated fabric and drapery, to gems and beads to metal crafts, and so on. The handicrafts stalls at the haat are allocated on a 15-day rotational basis to craftsmen from different parts of the country. In this way, it is made sure that different handicrafts are available to visitors at each visit.
There is also an exhibition hall in the Dilli Haat complex, where handicrafts and handlooms shows are held regularly to promote them. You can also find different cuisines of India at the food plaza here. Right from North Indian to the South Indian to the Rajasthani, you will find almost every type of traditional Indian food here. Many people go to this place just to taste these mouth-watering delicacies. Also, a number of regional food festivals are held here.
Akshardham Temple Delhi

The Akshardham Temple is one of the most recently built temples in Delhi. Constructed by the Bochasanvasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS), it is situated on the banks of the River Yamuna. Delhi Akshar Dham Mandir was inaugurated in Novenmber'05 in the presence of President APJ Abdul Kalam. It is spread over an area of 100 acres and took about two years to complete. Akshardhaam Temple of New Delhi is built in an architectural style similar to that of the Akshardham temple of Gandhinagar in Gujarat, India. Its construction is based on the ancient Sthaapatya shastras of India and it is built without steel, entirely out of sandstone and marble.
Approximately 234 ornate pillars, floral motifs, arches, exquisitely carved pavilions, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangle shikhars, a spectacular Gajendra Pith (plinth of stone elephants), adorn this architectural wonder. There are 20,000 statues inside Akshar Dham Mandir of Delhi of India's great sadhus, devotees, acharyas and divine personas. Other features of the Akshardham Temple are an IMAX theatre, a Swaminarayan temple, and an elaborate musical fountain. The area around the temple building has been converted into manicured lawns with beautiful water fountains.
The main shrine of the New Delhi Akshardhaam temple houses the statue of Lord Swaminarayan. There is an Akshardham Temple Monument to World Peace inside the temple complex. Along with that, there is also a restaurant modeled on the Ajanta and Ellora caves and an Ayurvedic bazaar. Combining Rajasthani, Orrisan, Gujarati, Mughal and Jain temple architecture, the mandir presents a magnificent sight. This temple is a major tourist attraction and counts amongst the wonders of modern India.
